I have another blog somehwere in the maze we call the internet, but alas, I have not logged in for ages and therefore cannot remember how to get on. Now, this may be a good thing considering how my views on things have changed quite a bit and I believe I have more grounding in the things of God and how I walk as I have spent time "being a good Berean". I would say that, a shift in theology, especially from Pentecostalism to Calvinism (Reformed Theology), is especially huge. Of course, the titles to the flow of thought and science mean nothing to me as I just want my beliefs to be consistent with the Bible, not the other way around. Reformed Theology is as close to perfect consistency with the Scriptures as I would say they can go, so I would imagine I fall into that "category".
Anywho, as I have given at least a tiny bit of gap catch up, I have a thought: If you are to debate with somebody an issue, whether of importance or of small matters, do you think it wise to have not only knowledge of the topic in subject, but also wisdom? Wisdom as in the kind that makes our arguement clear and persuasive. Knowledge only goes so far by itself. What is the implication of your knowledge? Is there a consistent point to your thought or arguement? When you present your knowledge of something, is it accurate and can you give it to somebody in a clear consise way?
What brings this to my mind is a recent arguement I was in not long ago on facebook over a moral matter. The moral point I tried to make was challenged as void because I left out a piece to the story I presented as I did not believe it important to my arguement. The short debate has left me thinking that she just wanted to argue with me because she really did not like the moral point I brought up. Her arguement was only presented with opinion and subjective morality (what is wrong for one person is not wrong for another), but I was never given a good thoughtful answer from her when asked to clarify her point to me.
In conclusion, I thought it to be a very good example of how someone can possess a type of knowledge, but if it cannot be presented in an artful, persuasive, and clear way... that persons arguement kind of just sits there and circles around going no where.
Well, leaving this now. Hopefully I will have something else to post soon so I do not forget how to log into this one! Hah!
